The Star that Pulses in the Heart

Attuning to Sagittarius, full moon and beyond . . .

Each falls to earth a little piece of sky, a gift of the stars to make a world, to pour out a life adventure or a planet's soul unfurled.

What we are is a power pressing to expand, soaring from the flaming heart of life upon a path of beckoning light.

As the stars pour out in constant pulsation so pulses a steady stellar heartbeat in every human chest.

Could each questing heart on earth be a traveller on the way to joy pouring forth?

Have you taken your stellar pulse today?

One doubt may steal this power of life away.

Seek the highest joy to be on your way.

As space is boundlessly expanding so is our power of expansion also boundless in its scope. This joy unbounded spurs the human quest and stirs the global hope.

This radiance must flow free, for a world of dark is lit by hearts that rise to see.

What we require is a vision that will ignite, a love stirring goal taking flight, a truth beam to transfix our line of sight.

Think of no joy greater than to tread the path of true direction and to ride a cosmic smile of liberated light.

Fear evaporates in a wide winged love embrace.  The earth and heavens meet in the heart's sacred place.

So moves the power of the lofty archer on a white steed with piercing arrow aiming for a dazzling height. Space now hums with this sign of trust and might. A hunter of light cannot be consumed by fright. Let fly this shaft in a quest of pure delight.

How will you reach your calling height?  How to be on course, yourself a burning star to light the night?  An act of clear attention begins this buoyant flight.

A visualization--three moves to begin your flight . . .

  1. Stretch your gaze to a far horizon, starting from the place you stand.  Feel encompassed by something wide and grand. Rotate and scan. Ponder possibilities with watching mind and ready hands. A distant point approaches and begins to grow. Other points are fading and have begun to lose their glow. Upon the ocean's edge this star is burning brighter than the rest. See it shimmering before the dawn, casting its sparkling path on the mirrored surface of the sea. It is pointing straight to you, a vision winged and free.
  2. Feel the shudder of something deep and true, the sparkle of the energy stream, a buoyancy of heart that floats a waking dream. Keep your eye upon this slender beam. The purpose you've been seeking is also seeking you. Fall in love with the beauty of the view. Sense the electric current of the new. Let the action of attraction take your heart a bird into the blue.
  3. Lock on target with an aim steadfast. Stretch this moment to see it last. Refuse to be seduced by voices whispering it could not be nor dissuaded by doubts denying the way that frees. Dedicate your day and pledge your heart by night.  Feel the universe supporting this gift of purpose clear and true. Make good on a promise never wavering in what you do. Affirm this star of joy that longs to shine through.  Give the world a rush of joy in meeting you.

May the far-off star you seek
become the inner pulsing heart
that moves your hands and feet.

Postscript

It may appear that themes presented here rise too lofty, perhaps ethereally, to meet the need of of a world in deep pounding crisis materially.  Or it could be that the absence of these themes, as an authentic reason for being, is the very thing that has placed us in this fix.  As was famously said by Emerson:

Things are in the saddle, and ride mankind.

Now the human race finds itself in a tight and pressing place (see Saturn in Virgo), for the light horse of the soul has been replaced.  In its stead sits a saddled man spurred in the flanks and chest.  Time to shop and buy and always consume with zest.  But that was yesterday and that game is not so fun to play.  As the lust for stuff rapidly loses its luster who will find a higher strength to muster?

Where we are today has changed the whole array. Yesterday's jewel in the hand sits a worthless bauble in the recycle can.  What can be sustained and what will survive if we miss the source of a love that thrives?

If imminent joy were discovered to be a steady source of strength would we as likely pursue what takes us far from our central burning star? Would the hunt for happiness in things and fleeting scenes fall out of favor--once we found a sweeter presence to savor? Would we seek and destroy the lives of foreign far-off kin to preserve a faltering 'way of life,' a way of death turned outside in? Would we still further a planet's wreck, passing humanity by, leaving millions forgotten in the dust of our neglect?

For joy will share, will buoyantly lift the deepest care, will ever hear how the world surrounding fares.  And just by its presence that sun of love will fill the needy place with its own self-luminous face.

And then the light that gladdens will heal the lack that saddens.

The place of want is flooded by the star that constant shines. Together we circle that pulsing Sun, and each again is One.

Now arms are emptied of things and busy minds from self circling schemes.  Embracing each other we walk free.

Is it time for joy to the world to be fulfilled?

I am hoping for another insightful explanation of our connection to the stars as we approach winter solstice 2010.
